If you like to entertain and you love mushrooms, then these mushroom crostini are for you.
This tasty appetizer is made with a garlic butter and Dijon toasted baguette that’s topped with cremini mushrooms, cheddar cheese, scallions, nuts, and paprika. Enjoy!
Ingredients
Baguette -sliced
Butter -soft
Garlic powder
Dijon mustard
1 (227 g) container cremini mushrooms -diced into small pieces
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
4 scallions (white and light-green part) -thinly sliced
1/3 cup roughly chopped pecans or walnuts
1/2 tsp paprika
Salt and black pepper to taste
Directions
- Pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Line a large cookie sheet with tin foil.
- Place the sliced baguette on the cookie sheet.
- Mix together some butter and garlic powder.
- Butter each slice of baguette.
- Bake the baguette until the edges begin to brown then broil to toast.
- Remove from the oven and spread on a thin layer of Dijon mustard. Not too much though. Dijon is strong in taste and you just want a hint of Dijon in the background.
- Mix together the mushrooms, cheddar cheese, scallions, nuts, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Top each baguette with the mushroom mixture.
- Bake until the cheddar cheese melts.
- Serve hot.
