Apple Cranberry Crisp

This warm dessert is one of the simplest things that can be made during apple season, and of course, during Fall. So before the season is over, pick up some local apples, and make this cozy dish.

Ingredients

5 large apples

1/3 cup brown sugar

4 tbsp unsalted butter

1/2 - 1 tbsp cinnamon (depending on your taste)

1/2 - 3/4 cup frozen cranberries

Granola

Note: A nice apple to use is Granny Smith if you’re not going to an orchard to get your apples

Directions

- Peel the apples and slice.

- Put the apples, brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon into a medium size pan.

- Heat on medium and mix often.

- Cook until the apples begin to soften. Reduce the heat a little if needed.

- Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees F.

- Pour the apples into an oven-proof dish and top with some frozen cranberries.

- Cover the apples and cranberries with granola. I like to use Quaker Harvest Crunch.

- Bake for 25-30 minutes.

- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
